A Country Weekend.

Brad and I traveled this past weekend to photograph the beautiful wedding of Justin and Erin. But, since I don’t want to post wedding photos until they return from their honeymoon in Jamaica, I wanted to post a few photos of our little mini-vacation in Amish Country!

Brad and I stayed in a small town called Strasburg for the long weekend. We found a country inn that allowed dogs (of course!), and we just had a great time away from the city and work. Strasburg was actually Erin (the bride)’s hometown. It was a beautiful little town – founded in 1733 with many historic homes and American-flag lined streets. It was surrounded on all sides by miles of Amish farmland, which we enjoyed exploring more than anything.

Here are a few photos from our trip.

We walked from our hotel to a small covered bridge where Turk could swim and Tuco could watch! :)

My three boys!

and we found a friend in the grass on a hike! :)

I loved the horse and buggies everywhere.

… and the historic homes with adorable flower-filled yards!

And then… the countryside. Brad kept saying he would move there in a heartbeat! And I kept saying “yes but what would you DO there?!” :)

Beautiful wheat fields at sunset. Love it!

Photos from the beautiful wedding to come soon!

LOVE the shots, Milla. Beautiful work! Did the Amish give you any trouble about taking their pictures? I got flipped off by a lil boy around 5ish (amish) when I was taking their pictures.

We drive thru there as a scenic detour on our way to Jared’s brother’s B&B in Westchester. I must say that I’ve never seen Turk look so happy as he does coming out of the stream! Keep up the great work, Milla.

Oh my gosh, Milla! I grew up in Strasburg! And Jack and I were just spending the day there on Saturday! What a small world … you captured Lancaster County perfectly!

Beautiful as always, Milla! Caleb’s folks live near here, so we’ve spent many an hour driving through these little towns. And we’ve taken Phin to the Strasburg railroad multiple times, where you can ride a real steam train! It is very quaint, but I agree, “what would you DO there?” :)

Milla, what a stunning set. The wheat at sunset is an amazing photo that I hope you will hang in your home. BIG. But my very favorite is the third image with that teeny DOF and the gorgeous curves of the field. Perfect.
