It’s officially FALL in Pittsburgh! So, for Melissa and John’s engagement session, we went to North Park to take advantage of the beautiful colors!

I absolutely loved this engagement session because not only are Mel and John wonderful, but so is their dog Lucy! And, they brought her along for some photos. Also, John used to be a professional baseball player, so they brought a ball and gloves to use in their photos. I love the creativity!

Mel and John are getting married next October at beautiful Seton Hill Chapel, and we are so excited to be part of it! Thanks again guys. It was a blast…

Here are a few favorites from the session. To see the whole slideshow, click here.

Melissa and AJ are engaged to be married next fall, and we completed their Pittsburgh engagement photos last weekend at Duquesne University, the place where they met in pharmacy school and where they will be married on October 9th, 2010!

This was my first time on Duquesne’s campus, and I was totally amazed by how beautiful it is, tucked away just behind downtown Pittsburgh! There were lots of bright fall trees, lots of beautiful blue skies, and lots of wonderful city views.

Thanks again Melissa and AJ for everything. I can’t wait unitl the big event next year! :)

Jen and Todd were married a few weeks ago at Hebron Church and Longvue Country Club, and Brad and I were honored to be part of it! The whole day was truly beautiful, and I was reminded that there is no time like early fall for a wedding. The weather was cool and colorful, and friends and family were kind and warm.

We so enjoyed being part of your day, Jen and Todd. Thank you.

I have two things to admit.

First, I am not a great blogger. I am behind on blogging recent engagement sessions and weddings, and we have tons of other personal photos sitting on our cameras that have never been uploaded or posted anywhere. This is sad, right? I mean, we are photographers! We should be taking tons of photos and posting them often!

Well, every problem needs a solution, so today I am starting a new blog photo series called “photo of the day” that will motivate me to 1) take photos every day 2) take photos of non-work related things 3) download my photos and share them with others!

On that topic is my second confession: we take WAY to many photos of our dogs. We are absolutely in love with these dogs, and much of our time is spent playing with them, cuddling with them, and taking photos of them. I say this to warn you: there will be lots of brown boxer lovin’ in this “photo of the day” series!

SOOO, today’s photo is of Tuco. He’s our 7-year-old boxer who we adopted when we got married.

He’s totally lazy and spoiled. When I went upstairs today and took this photo at 11:00am, he still hadn’t gotten out of bed.

This is the look I got for waking him up.

Mary Schwarz - Ha ha! I know exactly what you mean…taking photos you've never uploaded. Taking too many photos of your dog(s). But I like your dog photos!

Just yesterday I snapped a photo of Astin lying in OUR bed…head on pillow, sheets tucked up to his chest. The sad thing is that I did not put him like that.ReplyCancel

Amanda - Oh I love your photo of the day! I love Tuco! And I take WAY too many pictures of Ray too. Keep them comin.ReplyCancel

scott - Milla, I am glad you are doing this because I miss our blog friendship, but don't feel like I can comment on couples I don't know.ReplyCancel

Milla - Mary and Amanda! I'd love to see more of Astin and Ray, and Scott, I also am happy to be back into making "normal" blog posts. I hope I can keep it up! :)ReplyCancel

Jennifer and Jarrett have been in love for 11 years.

They know each other well. They interact so naturally and gently. And they are just sweet, wonderful people to be around.

I took Jennifer and Jarrett’s engagement photos at Washington’s Landing and the North Shore trail last week. It had rained every other day that week, but on the day of their session, we lucked out with beautiful sunshine and a cool breeze! Jarrett was sick, but you never would have known it. They both had fun and just enjoyed themselves. Now I seriously can’t wait for their wedding next July!

Thanks Jen and Jarrett. I had such a blast and can’t wait until the next time!

I was working on Adriel and Neal’s wedding photos and came across a photo that Brad took during their bride-groom portrait session. I love this photo because it reminds me how blessed I am. I absolutely love what I do…. I mean, I get to spend every weekend with people like them in places like this.

I am very thankful for all of this.

Back to work! Happy Wednesday everyone!

Milla - hahaha… thanks guys. It's actually a little jacket that I wear with black pants. And yes, Mary, that is a mighty nice strap I'm sporting! :) We love them!ReplyCancel

Adriel and Neal are a wonderful couple who have also become friends of ours over the last few months. We did their engagement session back in April, and I also did a bridal/lingerie shoot for Adriel as a suprise for Neal! So, Brad and I were so excited to drive down to Wheeling WV last weekend to document their wedding day. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding in the formal gardens at Oglebay Resort, and the reception was in the resort at Camp Russell.

Thanks Adriel and Neal for everything. Your wedding day was beautiful and we look forward to hanging out with you now as a married couple! :) To see the slideshow of their wedding, click here.

Kori and David are getting married next August, and to celebrate their engagement, we went out and took some pictures in Schenley Park on a beautiful September afternoon.

What Brad and I kept saying after we left the shoot was how in love Kori and David are. They were so sweet to each other, and they were so easy-going in front of the camera!

Thanks so much guys. We loved hanging out with you, and we so look forward to next year!

Meet Conor. He’s a senior. He wants to be a minister. And his passion is golf.

Conor and I (and his sister Shawna, whose wedding we’ll be photographing next month!) went to South Hills Country Club earlier this week to take some senior photos. And, of course, we had to have some fun hitting out of sand traps and such.

Thanks so much, Conor, for being awesome to photograph. I truly enjoyed meeting your family and hearing about your plans for the future! I’ll be seeing you again very soon!

After looking over our wedding pricing sheet, some people ask me about the “wedding slideshow” that is included with our coverage. So, I thought I’d post a little information and an example!

These wedding slideshows are one of my favorite things that we offer! After each wedding, we choose 40-60 photos that represent the day well, and we put them together in a slideshow set to music. Each slideshow is fun and romantic, and they are a great way to show family and friends your wedding without asking them to look through 500 photos! The slideshow remains online for 1 month, but you or your family can also purchase it on DVD to enjoy at home.

Here is an example from our most recent wedding, Elyse and Boris (just hit the “play” button to start the slideshow… it takes a few seconds to load).

If you would like to see more examples of our slideshows, just let me know!

Elyse and Boris are absolutely precious is so many ways. Brad and I first met them at their engagement shoot back in June and enjoyed learning a little about them. Ever since then, we have been SO excited about their wedding!

They were married at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association last weekend, and the whole event, including a limo ride around Pittsburgh for photos, was SO much fun. We truly enjoyed every second of it.

Thank you so much Elyse and Boris. We have loved getting to know you both, and we look forward to the next time we get to hang out!

Carrie is a senior this year, and we went out this weekend to take some senior portraits to remember this special time in her life. Here are a few of my favorites, and if you’d like to see the slideshow, just click here!
