Gina Cortez - Hey, My name is Gina. Today is a special day, because I want you to focus on what you do best and allow me to handle my passion, photography editing. When I was a kid, my father had converted the basement into a Dark Room. I would sit with him as he meticulously developed each roll of film. Chemicals and darkrooms have gone away as technology developed but I stayed up to date and realized my editing skills are way better and more fun!

Paula and John are very special clients-turned-friends.  Brad and I documented their engagement and wedding, and now, I was so fortunate to be part of them becoming parents, as well!   I took Paula and John’s maternity photos this fall, but since I knew a newborn session was coming, I wanted to post them together.

Paula and John, I am truly so happy for you both.  Avi is such an amazing blessing and I was so happy to meet him.

Here are a few favorite photos from Paula and John’s maternity session and Avi’s newborn session:

Beth and Sam are two of my favorite people ever. They are incredible wedding photographers who are also close friends and adopted family to me and Brad. We have more things in common than I can even name, and the countless hours we have spent drinking coffee, running, talking, eating, laughing, crying, playing poker, wandering around the Strip District, camping, procrastinating, developing ridiculous business plans, attacking bean dip, co-working, doing the harlem shake, (kind of) crafting, facebook-commenting, yoga-ing, and most importantly, texting(!) have made my life so much happier these past few years.

Thank you, Beth and Sam, for being the kind of friends who would ask me to be part of the sweetest experience of your life. I still have tears in my eyes when I look at these photos.

PPG rink engagement session pittsburgh

The first time Angela and Brian came by to talk about their wedding, we met at the door with a big hug and knew immediately that we would be a great fit for each other.  They are so sweet, laid-back, and in love. And, since they got were engaged at PPG rink downtown, we started their engagement session there and finished with drinks at the beautiful Fairmon Hotel.  Angela and Brian, we can’t wait for April and truly look forward to spending more time with both of you soon! Thanks again for being so wonderful. :)

The first time we met Lauren and Steve, I knew we would be the perfect fit. We sat and talked about running and a common love for Greenfield and Houghs and everything Pittsburgh. And, when their wedding day finally arrived, we couldn’t have been more excited.

There’s great variety in these photos, as we started with a beautiful sunny day, then as we did portraits on Pittsburgh’s North Shore, it turned bitter cold and windy, and soon became a white-out snow storm! But, Lauren and Steve were great sports throughout, and their day was simply beautiful from start to finish.

Lauren and Steve, thanks again for everything. Here’s a little taste of what’s to come. :)

When we first met with Stephanie and Adam to talk wedding photography, I was SO excited to be part of their day. Not only had they chosen two of the grandest venues in Pittsburgh for their wedding, but they were also so sweet, easy-going, and very in love. Stephanie and Adam were married on a beautiful fall day in Pittsburgh at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Oakland, followed by a gorgeous reception at The Grand Concourse at Station Square. Their day was classy and sweet from start to finish, and we were so honored to document every moment.

Stephanie and Adam, thank you so much for asking us to be part of your day. Here are a few favorite photos!

Chicago Engagement Session

Crystal and Mike have been in love since high school. They met their sophomore year and a friendship quickly grew into a relationship and now, nine years after their first official date, they will be getting married! Crystal and Mike grew up in Pennsylvania but now live in Lincoln Park, Chicago, and they love their neighborhood. So, when we started talking about planning an engagement session, it only made sense that we should shoot it in their city and corner of the world.

Thanks Crystal and MIke for everything. We had a wonderful time with you and so look forward to the wedding day. Here are a few favorites from your session.

And, of course, I can not fail to mention their little man, Julio. He is quite handsome, no?

Brad and I just took a lovely trip to New York City to photograph engagements, families, and dogs! It will be a while before I am able to blog all of these sessions, so in the meantime, I wanted to post one preview from each of these twelve sessions in the city. Thank you so much to every single person we worked with. It was such a fun, memorable trip and we can’t wait to come back soon! :)

brooklyn engagement photos

I first met Jenny and Chris while photographing her sister Jaime and Bryan’s beautiful St. Barnard’s wedding years ago! So, I was thrilled when they first contacted me to tell me of their engagement on the Brooklyn Promenade and of their vision for engagement photos in the same location. It was a beautiful fall day when we met for photos, and we had such a wonderful time getting to know more of their story.

Jenny and Chris, thank you so much for being so sweet and wonderful to work with. Here are a few photos from your session! :)

This winter, Brad and I had such a wonderful time doing maternity photos in NYC for Rachel and Vito. And, we were SO excited when they wanted us to come hang out again this fall for photos with sweet Max! Rachel and Vito, your home is truly so warm and happy, and we had a wonderful time catching up. I look forward to knowing you more over the years, not just as clients but as friends.

One of the favorite parts of my job is documenting people over the years. We usually meet people when they are engaged, and it’s a joy to watch them become a married couple and then grow into a family of 3. And, Chris and Heather just welcomed sweet little Robinson into the family and I was SO, so happy to come document their family this fall.

Chris and Heather, thank you so much for trusting me with your family’s photos and for being such a pleasure to know and work with. I always look forward to our time together! Here are a few photos from your session – your little man has the biggest grin I think I’ve ever seen!!! :)

I absolutely love it when past wedding couples contact me to say that they are adding a third member to the family! Julia and Steve welcomed Maelen into the family a few weeks ago, and I was so happy to come document their new family unit.

Julia and Steve, it was so nice to see you both again. It was a joy meeting Maelen, and I hope to document her life for years to come! :)
