I am really excited to show you something I have been thinking about and working on for a long time now: our new line of save-the-date cards!
We offer an engagement session with every level of wedding coverage, and one use for these engagement photos besides our beautiful guest sign-in album is our save-the-date cards.
Previously, clients who ordered save-the-date cards would work with me to design the card from scratch. I would create 2 or 3 design choices, they would choose the one they liked most, and then about 10 revisions later, we’d finally have the finished product! :)
Well, in order to simplify this process AND to give each client more design choices, I made a custom line of cards that can be completely customized in color, photo, and text.
Here are the details:
1. Each card is 5×7 inches and is printed on both the front and the back.
2. Each card may be customized to match the colors of your wedding
3. You may choose the engagement photo(s) to be used on your card
4. Cards are ordered in sets of 25 and come with either white or natural envelopes (specified below)
5. The basic design and font used on your card will remain the same (that is unless you send me brownies and tell me you’ll love me forever).
Here are the 8 designs that are available for save-the-date cards.
I am also designing a custom line of thank-you cards. Those will be folded cards with room for a note inside, and I will be posting these sometime over the next few weeks!
I want to show you a few photos of our guest sign-in albums for wedding receptions. These albums have become really popular since we started offering an engagement shoot with every level of wedding coverage, and it is one of my personal favorite wedding add-ons!
The sign-in album is 10×10 inches with thick, hinged pages like our 12×12 wedding albums (and, they would look awesome sitting together on your coffee table!). It includes your favorite engagement photos and also offers room for guest signatures on every page. The color options are modern and fun, and the album color can also coordinate with your wedding album color and/or wedding reception colors. And on a personal note, I always love to see guests enjoying your engagement photos at the wedding reception!
Here are a few photos from our studio sample of Adriel and Neal’s engagement session. We have many more of these books coming in the next few months from last year’s engagement shoots. So, I will post more photos as they come in.
There are lots of color choices for this album (which you can see here). And, we have samples of every cover material in our office. So, feel free to come feel and smell the amazing choices anytime! :)
Last month, while my uncle came to town for a photography business crash-course, I sent out a request for photo models for engagement and family sessions so he could have a sense of what it’s like to run a session – to give direction, to find locations, to encourage interaction, to deal with children, to keep everyone smiling! :) Well, Maggie and Tyler were some of our friends who responded as well as a few other families whose sessions I’ll post here soon!
Maggie and Tyler have been married since last summer but never had engagement photos done, so this was a perfect opportunity for us to practice!
Here are a few favorites from our session, taken by me and Uncle Ray (who is an amazing photographer!). Thanks again Maggie and Tyler! We so appreciate you both giving your time to us and your kisses to each other! We had a blast. :)
Steph and Jerrod are sweet friends of ours who celebrated their second wedding anniversary this week. So, last weekend, Brad and I met them at Mellon Park for some photos to help them celebrate!
Here are a few photos from their session. Happy Anniversary guys. We love you dearly!
Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well on the other end of the screen. We have been doing well here… really looking forward to a weekend to relax and catch up on some things around the house!
So, I have a few updates today. First of all, check out the new blog facelift! I have been working on this for a little while and just launched it yesterday. I love the bigger photos, richer colors, and header slideshow. Let me know what you think!
Also, we have been busy the past few weeks with weddings, engagement shoots, and family portrait sessions. So, today, a preview from Maggie and Tyler’s session! More to come soon…
Happy Friday everyone! Any fun plans for the weekend?
It’s officially FALL in Pittsburgh! So, for Melissa and John’s engagement session, we went to North Park to take advantage of the beautiful colors!
I absolutely loved this engagement session because not only are Mel and John wonderful, but so is their dog Lucy! And, they brought her along for some photos. Also, John used to be a professional baseball player, so they brought a ball and gloves to use in their photos. I love the creativity!
Mel and John are getting married next October at beautiful Seton Hill Chapel, and we are so excited to be part of it! Thanks again guys. It was a blast…
Here are a few favorites from the session. To see the whole slideshow, click here.
Melissa and AJ are engaged to be married next fall, and we completed their Pittsburgh engagement photos last weekend at Duquesne University, the place where they met in pharmacy school and where they will be married on October 9th, 2010!
This was my first time on Duquesne’s campus, and I was totally amazed by how beautiful it is, tucked away just behind downtown Pittsburgh! There were lots of bright fall trees, lots of beautiful blue skies, and lots of wonderful city views.
Thanks again Melissa and AJ for everything. I can’t wait unitl the big event next year! :)
Here are a few favorites from their session…

Jennifer and Jarrett have been in love for 11 years.
They know each other well. They interact so naturally and gently. And they are just sweet, wonderful people to be around.
I took Jennifer and Jarrett’s engagement photos at Washington’s Landing and the North Shore trail last week. It had rained every other day that week, but on the day of their session, we lucked out with beautiful sunshine and a cool breeze! Jarrett was sick, but you never would have known it. They both had fun and just enjoyed themselves. Now I seriously can’t wait for their wedding next July!
Thanks Jen and Jarrett. I had such a blast and can’t wait until the next time!
Kori and David are getting married next August, and to celebrate their engagement, we went out and took some pictures in Schenley Park on a beautiful September afternoon.
What Brad and I kept saying after we left the shoot was how in love Kori and David are. They were so sweet to each other, and they were so easy-going in front of the camera!
Thanks so much guys. We loved hanging out with you, and we so look forward to next year!

Stacey and Jeff are getting married in Barbados (lucky them!) but they wanted engagement photos in Pittsburgh! So, we worked around Oakland on a beautiful September night and had a wonderful time together.
Here are some favorites from the shoot. Thanks so much Stacey and Jeff. And next time… definitely bring the dogs! :)
They are sweet, funny, and artistic. She teaches English; he teaches art. They love each other, and we loved hanging out with them. Kelly and Ben are getting married at St. Paul’s cathedral next year, and we are SO pumped to be part of it!
Thanks so much guys for such a fun time together. Here are a few of our favorites!
Gotta love this field of wildflowers… mmm…
Ben is an artist, so we had fun with this amazing graffiti wall!
Jen and Todd are a couple who Brad and I met through these wonderful people. Their wedding is coming up in October, and we recently went out to Hartwood Acres, the place where they first met, to take some pre-wedding engagement photos!
Brad and I had an absolute blast working with these two; they are totally in love, and it was very fun to be part of. Now we are even more excited about the wedding in a few months!
Here are a few of our favorites. Many more to come soon!
Todd is hilarious!
The mansion grounds are beautiful…
love that late-afternoon sun!
we were playing with a little off-camera lighting in these four…
Tonight, Brad and I had a great time hanging out with Shawna and Cam in Oakland!
We looked through the photos quickly after the session and are thrilled with the results. However, since we are in the process of moving and won’t have time to get all the photos out this week, I wanted to send a sneak-peak of what’s to come!
Thanks again Shawna and Cam. We had a great time and can’t wait for your wedding in a few months!
Sunny and Christian were so much fun to photograph. They have been married a while but wanted a few more photos to remember the day, so we spent time in Schenley Park, the Strip district, and Mt. Washington as they enjoyed champagne, climbed monster tires, and re-enacting their proposal. Thanks, guys, for everything. We had such a blast!

Remember Elyse and Boris from their sneak peek here? Well, these two came to Pittsburgh this past weekend for us to take their engagement photos, and Brad and I really had such a blast with them. We worked in Oakland at the Carnegie library, in Schenley Park, and in the Cathedral’s Israeli room to commemorate how they met: on a Jewish student trip to Israel.
I have been working to finish their music slideshow, and I have also been trying to figure out how to post these slideshows directly into the blog. I am still trying to figure out how to make it bigger and how to make the controls black so you can see them; however, here it is to enjoy in the meantime! Just hit the white play symbol in the middle of the last photo or visit this link to make it easier! It takes a few seconds to load before it starts playing.
Thanks Elyse and Boris for such a great time. We can’t wait to photograph your wedding this fall! Enjoy!
