Last month, while my uncle came to town for a photography business crash-course, I sent out a request for photo models for engagement and family sessions so he could have a sense of what it’s like to run a session – to give direction, to find locations, to encourage interaction, to deal with children, to keep everyone smiling! :) Well, Maggie and Tyler were some of our friends who responded as well as a few other families whose sessions I’ll post here soon!

Maggie and Tyler have been married since last summer but never had engagement photos done, so this was a perfect opportunity for us to practice!

Here are a few favorites from our session, taken by me and Uncle Ray (who is an amazing photographer!). Thanks again Maggie and Tyler! We so appreciate you both giving your time to us and your kisses to each other! We had a blast. :)

Steph and Jerrod are sweet friends of ours who celebrated their second wedding anniversary this week. So, last weekend, Brad and I met them at Mellon Park for some photos to help them celebrate!

Here are a few photos from their session. Happy Anniversary guys. We love you dearly!

Meet Carrie, Jason, and Tanner! This sweet family met me at Frick Park a little while ago for some family photos. We had a great time – Tanner beat us all at skipping rocks, and he was so patient with all the clicking and smiling!

Here are a few favorites from our session!

Happy Monday! I just want to stop by quickly and post a preview of a session we did while my uncle was in town for a mini-photography workshop! I love this late-autumn photo of Emily and her son Silas…

More to come!

Hi everyone! I’m back again with another preview of a shoot I’m working on today: the Caruso family. I did this shoot a few weeks ago when I was in Florida to see my family. I was SO happy to have a change of scenery and to shoot with a lake in the background. Here’s a sneak peak. More to come…

This week I have had the wonderful opportunity to take some headshots for local dancers, actors, etc. Hannah is a dancer and a friend of Margaret Anne who came out earlier this week to play in the sun and update her headshots.

Here are a few of my favorites from the session:

Meet Conor. He’s a senior. He wants to be a minister. And his passion is golf.

Conor and I (and his sister Shawna, whose wedding we’ll be photographing next month!) went to South Hills Country Club earlier this week to take some senior photos. And, of course, we had to have some fun hitting out of sand traps and such.

Thanks so much, Conor, for being awesome to photograph. I truly enjoyed meeting your family and hearing about your plans for the future! I’ll be seeing you again very soon!

Geni is pregnant with her second child, and her first girl, Grace, is turning four this week! So, they wanted some photos of this sweet moment in the life of their family. Here are a few favorites from their session.

Thanks again so much, Geni, for having me out. Your family is precious, and I hope everything goes smoothly these last few weeks! More pictures will be coming soon!

Not only is she beautiful. She is sweet, athetic, smart, and motivated! She’s a lifeguard, she plays volleyball, she plans to be a Pharmacist, and she is a total joy to be around.

Carrie is a senior this year, and we went out this weekend to take some senior portraits to remember this special time in her life. Here are a few of my favorites, and if you’d like to see the slideshow, just click here!

Thanks again Debby and Carrie. I loved hanging out with you guys (and the uncles and ducks, etc! :)

Meet Caryn Azure of Caryn Azure Photography!

Caryn is a beautiful, creative, amazing photographer who I have enjoyed beginning to get to know recently!

A few months ago, Caryn organized a lunch for Pittsburgh photographers which allowed me to meet some great photographers in the area (including this wonderful gal!). And, after that meeting, Caryn suggested that the two of us get together and shoot bio photos for each other’s websites.

Here are a few favorites from my half of the shoot; I can’t WAIT to see Caryn’s photos of me and Brad! We certainly don’t get in front of the camera very often, and I can’t wait to see what her creative eye came up with.

Thanks Caryn and Chris! We had a wonderful time with you two!

This past week, I had a wonderful chance to take a short break and head down to Florida for a few days. While I was home, mom, dad, and I went over to the beach one afternoon for some fresh seafood and reading. And, I brought along the camera to get some pictures of the two of them on the beach.

I love these photos because they’re so natural. For my entire life, these two have loved each other honestly and sweetly before my sister and me, and I am so thankful for their example of marriage.

It was wonderful to be with family, and it was HEAVENLY to feel the sand and the waves under my feet! Here are a few favorites…

Hello all! I realize is has been a VERY long time since I have updated the blog…. shame shame!

Lots of things have been going on over the past few weeks, including a wonderful trip to Florida and the beginnings of a move across Pittsburgh to a new house. I will certainly be back to post pictures from those adventures soon!

Today I wanted to post photos of a new friend and wonderful Pittsburgh photographer Mary Schwartz. Mary and I met at a Pittsburgh photographer’s lunch, and when she asked me to take some new professional photos for her website and blog, I was thrilled!

She and her husband Jay met me and Brad in the Strip District, and we had a great time chatting and taking some headshots. Here are a few of my favorites…

Thanks again Mary! Next time I’ll have to brave getting in FRONT of the camera! :)
