Hello everyone! The sun is shining through my windows today, so I decided to edit sunny, warm Las Vegas! Actually… it wasn’t that sunny or warm, but we can pretend, right?

While I was in Las Vegas, two friends and fellow photographers (<a href="http://millacblog.com/600/"target="_blank">Mary and Caryn!) and I went out to the desert/canyon area to take some photos. It was really wonderful just spending time with these two girls, but in addition, we got some very fun updated photos to use on our websites/blogs/facebook/whatever! The first photos I’d like to show are of my friend and <a href="http://www.birchtreephotographyblog.com"target="_blank">fellow photographer, Mary. I met Mary through a luncheon for Pittsburgh photographers, and we have been wonderful friends ever since. She was my roomie at WPPI, and we have been brainstorming ideas from this wonderful conference ever since!

And on a sidenote, for you photographers out there who see yourself in “competition” with others in your area, I can’t encourage your strongly enough to change that viewpoint – friends working in your field are such a wonderful blessing to have. We ask each other questions, we offer encouragement, we send each other work, we give each other new insight and ideas, we have delicious meals together, and we always provide each other with fun photos… :)

Here are a few favorite photos from our desert photo shoot! Photos of Caryn to come in a few!

I just posted some of my <a href="http://millacblog.com/my-beautiful-friend-mary/"target="_blank">favorites of Mary. Now, I’d like to show a few of <a href="http://www.carynazurephotography.com"target="_blank">Caryn! I met Caryn through one of my friends, <a href="http://millacblog.com/stephanie-and-jerrod/"target="_blank">Stephanie. Caryn was the one who started putting together our wonderful PIttsburgh photographer lunches that we have every few months, and she has also become a great friend over the past year.

I said it on my last post but I think it’s worth repeating, for you photographers out there who see yourself in “competition” with others in your area, I can’t encourage your strongly enough to change that viewpoint – friends working in your field are such a wonderful blessing to have.

Now that all the snow has melted in Pittsburgh and life is back to normal, I want to post some white, white photos from one of my two sessions in Frick Park a few weeks ago!

When I sent out the call for couples to join me in the snowy park, Betsey and Matt were the first to respond! Betsey and Matt (and their sweet daughter Lillian) are friends of ours from church, and though they were married years ago, they still had their wedding outfits (and fit into them perfectly – hey, that’s pretty impressive!!) Not sure I could say the same! :)

Here are a few favorites from their snowy session! Thanks so much for braving the weather, guys. It was SO much fun!

Claire Poppert is a precious 3-month old that I had the pleasure of photographing while <a href="http://millacblog.com/washington-d-c/"target="_blank">visiting Washington D.C. last weekend. Her mom and dad, Kate and Dave, are related to <a href="http://millacblog.com/262/"target="_blank">Eva and John, whose wedding we photographed last December. And, we were thrilled when they asked us to come out to photograph their little one.

This session was such a pleasure for me. Not only was Claire sweet and pleasant the whole time. Okay, okay… almost the whole time. We did have a few small fits! :) But also, her sweet mama made all sorts of delicious cookies and cake bars for us to take home. I mean, amazing!

Here are a few favorites from their session. Thanks again, guys. Enjoy!

Recently, Brad and I have started including a full set of professional printed proofs with every wedding and portrait package. And, we just received the new Milla C. Photography proof boxes for delivering these proofs to our clients!

Aren’t they awesome? I absolutely love them and can’t wait to start sending them out.

Why do we include proofs with our wedding and portrait packages?

Good question! :)

First, we love having photos in-hand and we want our clients to hold actual physical photos instead of only viewing them on a computer screen. It’s hard to see the big picture of your wedding day when you’re viewing photos one-by-one on a small screen, and because of issues with monitor calibration, the photos will look slightly different on every computer screen! You can read my posts about monitor calibration <a href="http://millacblog.com/monitor-calibration-part-1-for-everyone/"target="_blank">here!

Also, we want you to ENJOY your photos by putting them in frames, passing them out to family and friends, sticking them in thank-you cards, etc.

Finally, we include professional proofs with every package because we want our clients to see the difference between professional prints and consumer prints. Seriously, folks, there is NO comparison! Our professional prints are completed with a lustre coating that protects them over time. And, the colors are bright and vibrant without being over-saturated, as they often are when ordered from consumer labs. We have rave reviews about the quality of our professional prints, and I want everyone to have some in-hand!
