Angie is a sweet, calm Pit Bull who is living with us for a little while, looking for a home. After a few weeks in our house, I can say a little bit more about her:

She loves people. She loves walks. She gets along fine with other dogs but isn’t affectionate yet (our dog Turk tries to snuggle with her and lick her face and she just ignores him). She likes swimming. She is house trained and crate trained. She loves walks. Shredded chicken is her treat of choice. She sleeps 22 hours of the day. When she’s not sleeping, she’s putting her nose in a lap for attention. She wants to be with someone at all times and will move from room to room to stay by your side. She likes having a back yard so she can lay in the grass. And have I mentioned that she loves walks?

Peanut is a tiny little guy who looks just like my sister’s dog, Jasper! He’d love to have a new family.

Tippy is a beautiful brindle Pit Bull mix who needs a new home.

Jeannie is a gorgeous, sweet Pit Bull mix who needs a family.

Phineas is a sweet, energetic, 1-year-old terrier mix who needs a good home!

Hazel is a 6 year old Pitt Bull mix… calm, sweet, she needs a family to love her.

More dogs from the Animal Rescue League of Pittsburgh to come!

Yesterday, Mary Schwarz and I went to the Animal Rescue League of Pennsylvania to photograph rescue dogs for the society’s website and fundraising materials. My parents are veterinarians who taught me to love and appreciate animals, and I couldn’t think of a better way to volunteer my time: in an effort to help rescue dogs find homes with families who will love them!

This is a photo I took of my friend Mary, her husband Jay, and dog, Astin back when we were COVERED in snow here! I just love all the joy in this photos…. hilarious Astin!
